04Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we process your personal data under the following lawful bases as required by the GDPR and UK GDPR:
- Contract Performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): processing necessary to create and manage your account, process payments, and deliver the Service you have signed up for.
- Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): processing necessary for fraud prevention, security, improving our Service, and direct marketing to existing users — where these interests are not overridden by your rights.

- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): processing based on your explicit consent, including non-essential cookies and marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
For special category data (e.g., government-issued identification for KYC), we rely on explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)) and, where necessary, compliance with legal obligations (Art. 9(2)(g)).
05Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: third parties who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing, data analytics, hosting, customer support, and email delivery. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.
- Business Transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- Legal Requirements: if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or others.
- With Your Consent: with your explicit consent or at your direction.
- Public Information: information you choose to make public, such as your profile or public content, may be visible to other users and the general public.

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites, services, or applications that are not owned or controlled by Unlokr. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through our platform.
10Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
11International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. 13Data Breach Notification
In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will:
- Notify the relevant supervisory authority (e.g., the Nigerian Data Protection Commission (NDPC), or your local DPA if you are in the EEA/UK) without undue delay and, where feasible, within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.
- Notify affected users without undue delay where the breach is likely to result in a high risk to their rights and freedoms, providing details of the nature of the breach, the likely consequences, and the measures we are taking to address it.
We maintain an internal breach register and conduct regular security assessments. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@unlokr.app.
14Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in the Contact section.
17GDPR Rights (European Users)
If you are located in the EEA or the UK, the GDPR and UK GDPR apply to our processing of your personal data. In addition to the rights listed above, you have:
- The right to be informed about how your data is used — which this Privacy Policy fulfills.
- The right to withdraw consent at any time for any processing based on consent.
- The right to object to automated decision-making and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.
